One Flow Battle is a series of 1 vs 1 parkour flow battles in the style of breakdance or MC head-to-head battles. The athletes have 10 seconds to do their best movements and are compared against each other directly in that battle only. Questions you may have
Q — When does the 10 seconds start for a flow?
The 10 second timer starts when you first ‘leave the ground’ so to speak. This means your first jump, acrobatic movement or when you leave a lache bar for the first time. Starting to swing, running up to a wall etc do not use your flow time. If you start your flow with groundwork movements such as a roll, dance etc, your timer will start when your movement starts.
Q — During a battle, do I share the course with anyone? What about for qualifiers?
No, the course is yours alone to use during a battle. Battles are back to back flows, so athletes are not on course at the same time. Qualification groups share the course during their block but have ample time to demonstrate their skills, then also get one brief opportunity to use the course exclusively for their ‘last flow’ in a qualifier.
Q — Who decides who goes first in a battle?
Athletes will play rock paper scissors before every Battle. The winner gets to choose if they want to go first or second in the battle
Q — What criteria do the judges use to decide the winner?
Judges focus on overall impression of flow quality, including creativity, smoothness, and variety of movements.
Q — What is the scoring system? Is it point based?
There is no point scoring system. Judges only compare the two battling athletes at a time and select which flow had the better overall impression. Of course, bails will severely deduct flow, so priotitising execution over difficulty is key.

Q — Can I win a battle without doing any flips?
Yes, we have seen ‘Parkour only’ flows beat ones which contain flips in the past. The smoothness and fluidity of the flow is the most important part, there is no bonus for particular types of movements. Fluidity always beats difficulty in a flow battle.
Q — Can I participate in multiple divisions?
If you qualify, yes, you can compete in as many as you like.
Q — How do I submit my flow for the OPEN Division A online qualifier?
You can submit your instagram video through our website's submission form. Make sure it’s a single, continuous 10-second clip filmed in 2024. Tag #oneflowbattlesingapore24. All ages and genders can submit for the OPEN division.
Q — Is there an age limit for the divisions?
Yes, the Under 16 division is for athletes under 16 years old. The other divisions have no specific age limits but are based on skill levels and gender where applicable.
Q — Why is there a seperate womens division?
We want to develop the growth of womens Parkour in Singapore by providing a competitive environment that allows them to shine. We’ve seen amazing progress in the community on this in recent years and we want to do as much as we can with the resources we have to support this.
